CleanSpace Names Will Knapp Director of Sales for the Midwest

CleanSpace has appointed Will Knapp as Director of Sales for the Midwest, expanding the company’s presence in one of the country’s most important pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing markets.

Knapp will represent CleanSpace’s modern design-build model across the region, helping clients move from early facility strategy and capital planning through design, engineering, U.S.-based manufacturing, construction, commissioning, qualification and validation, and ongoing facility support.

Unlike the conventional model, which divides responsibility among multiple designers, consultants, contractors, manufacturers and validation providers, CleanSpace packages these capabilities through one coordinated organization. This gives clients a single accountable partner with greater control over cost, schedule, quality, compliance and long-term facility performance.

“Our sales proposition is much broader than selling cleanrooms or construction services,” said Nick Vermont, COO of CleanSpace. “We help clients understand the entire path from an operational need or manufacturing objective through a fully commissioned and commercially ready facility. Will understands that conversation. He can engage a client early, understand the business and technical drivers behind the investment, and connect those priorities to the complete CleanSpace platform.”

Knapp brings more than 25 years of experience across the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. His background includes aseptic and sterile manufacturing, oral solid dose, biologics, high-containment operations, GMP facility delivery, commissioning, qualification and validation, quality and compliance, and capital project planning.

His combination of technical expertise and commercial experience positions him to identify the challenges clients are trying to solve and align the appropriate CleanSpace capabilities around them.

“We have deliberately built CleanSpace to provide clients with a more coordinated and accountable alternative to fragmented project delivery,” said Robert Griffith, Chief Strategy Officer of CleanSpace. “Our value is in bringing the people, systems and capabilities required to execute these programs together under one organization. Will understands both the complexity of these investments and the importance of presenting our complete value proposition to the market.”

Throughout his career, Knapp has worked with pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical organizations to align facility investments with manufacturing, regulatory and commercial objectives. He has supported early capital planning, facility strategy, complex GMP programs, market development and long-term client partnerships.

“The Midwest is a critical market for CleanSpace, but this appointment is about more than adding regional coverage,” said Brian Bennett, Executive Vice President of CleanSpace. “Will has the technical credibility to sit with a client, understand their process and ask the right questions before a project is fully defined. That allows us to engage earlier and demonstrate how our design-build model can reduce risk, create cost and schedule certainty, and produce a better overall outcome.”

Knapp has also remained active in the pharmaceutical industry through professional organizations, technical presentations and published thought leadership. His industry involvement includes the ISPE Great Lakes Chapter and PDA Midwest.

“CleanSpace has assembled a combination of capabilities that is genuinely differentiated in the market,” said Knapp. “Clients are looking for greater accountability and fewer gaps between planning, design, manufacturing, construction, validation and long-term support. I am excited to bring that complete offering to clients throughout the Midwest and help them move their programs from Concept to Commercialization™."
